Brand new paintings.

Born in Portrush, Northern Ireland, I moved to Belfast as a young child. My early interest in artistic and creative pursuits led me to join the Irish School of Landscape Painting where I received my Fellowship from my tutor, the renowned artist, Kenneth Webb.

I developed my signature style, fusing abstraction with realism to recreate the gentle beauty of Ireland.

I paint the way I do because I am interested in the hidden design within what I see. As there are so many good photographers, I feel there is no pressure for me to paint a scene realistically; this is why I paint impressions of what I see, or my expression of it.

Exhibiting regularly at many venues in Belfast, Dublin and the Mall Gallery in London, I have sold my paintings to both private and public collections around the world, including in Arizona, Brussels, Australia and Spain and also to the Ulster Television Permanent Collection.

I was privileged to be commissioned by Down County Council to paint a large mural depicting the late eighteenth century linen heritage of that era, which was displayed in Ballynahinch town centre.

A past president of Ulster Society of Women Artists, I have exhibited on numerous occasions with Ulster Women Artists, Art Society of Ulster and Ulster Watercolour Society at many prestigious venues, including, Belfast Waterfront Hall, the Ulster Hall, Stormont Parliament Buildings, Lisburn Island Centre, Castle Espie and Belfast Castle Gift Shop & Gallery, where I was the gallery manager and resident artist.

I love to visit Cadaques in Spain where I enjoy painting the special light that brings a magical translucency to the sea and the rocks underneath.

Port Lligat is just around the corner, where Salvador Dali lived and worked. He had such exciting ideas and thought outside the box and yet his paintings were so precisely painted.

One of my favourite works is Vermeer’s painting of ‘The Milkmaid.’ I feel that if I look at it long enough she will look up from pouring the milk and smile at me. have always had a keen interest in photography and it has become such a huge hobby amongst many.
