Bout Yeh photographer’s fine art photography portfolio takes Silver at Prix De La Photographie Paris 2019
Great to see Bout Yeh lead photographer Stephen S T Bradley winning Silver in the Nature / Sky category at international photography competition Prix De La Photographie Paris for his series of fine art photographs of skies over Northern Ireland, entitled Highworld.
I began this particular creative journey when I went on a trip to The Dark Hedges area of County Antrim, Northern Ireland with a group of photographer friends in 2015. While everyone in the group brought medium to high end digital cameras, I decided to test my creative metal and brought an old iPhone3GS.
Images shot with this camera phone include one of a dark and brooding sky photographed from the small and winding road leading to the fishing village of Ballintoy that is now in the private collection of a Manhattan based movie producer, who saw my work in an editorial feature on my sky work in the Irish Times.
Since then, I’ve taken my fine art photography to another level by focusing upwards of dramatic cloud patterns and light, where the only adjustments are to exposure, saturation and overall image colour.
