North coast creative.

I got into photography through my love of parkour. I was 16 and started off doing videography of my friends and myself doing parkour and made edits and uploaded to my youtube channel.

Then 2 years later my brother had bought a camera and I helped myself to it one day when he was at work and I’ve not been able to set down a camera ever since. I eventually stopped the videography and put my full attention into photography.

Almost a year ago I moved to the North Coast to live with my girlfriend and from a photographers point of view it was the best decision ever made. The North Coast has some spectacular scenery and amazing opportunities for photographs.

Before leaving Banbridge I felt like I had hit a dead end with my creativity as there isn’t much to see or do when it comes to the photography side of things, so moving to Coleraine really opened up a whole new world for me.

I now feel like I have improved so much in such a short space of time, which is why I now am trying to develop a business in specialities including weddings, fashion, portraits and pets.

I hope to eventually travel the world as a full photographers shooting different cultures, countries and animals for magazines.

Coleraine: I got this photo on a jetty off the River Bann that I had walked by for months, always thinking to myself that it would make a great sunset photograph. I went one evening on the off chance that there might be a nice sunset but I managed to forget my tripod so had to balance my camera on a backpack but still managed to nail it.

Meg: Yasmin, my girlfriends sister, wanted a portrait of her horse Meg taken at her farm in Eglinton. It is, to date, one of the hardest photos I’ve ever had to take, as I needed an off-camera flash with a soft box, whilst trying to work with a horse that is very boisterous and didn’t want to listen. Even though it was hard work, it paid off as it is one of my favourite portraits.

Carrick-a-Rede: This was one of the first places I visited last year when I moved to the North Coast as it was top of my to-do list. I have seen a lot of photographs online of this location, most of them of the actual rope bridge, but I was really inspired by the view just before it.

Banbridge: I took this one whilst trying to learn how to take landscapes using a slow shutter speed. This was my first ever attempt at it, and I sat for two hours as the sun set, then combined three separate images to make this photograph.

Portstewart: I take my camera nearly everywhere I go. I was on my way back to the car after walking our dogs on the beach, and the reflections for the town caught my eye and made for a perfect photo.
